The Flick Stick was invented by New Zealander Dr Des Rainey. He authored also the 'Number Family' concepts and methods that drive its Early Numeracy use.

The Flick Stick and Number Family methods are widely endorsed by teachers. They support all curricula, including British, American and Australian and support and enhance New Zealand's Numeracy Initiative.
